Project Overview

Elevating the guest experience with a modern website and bespoke booking system. The goal was to craft a conversion-driven platform that leverages the existing site's strengths while catering to organic traffic and offering competitive pricing to repeat visitors through a custom booking solution.

Discovery phase

A surprise to begin with. From the beginning it was clear that the old webpage needed to be replaced. But during discovery the client told me about the many return guests who would like to book directly and not through Airbnb. Furthermore, there were settings she for bookings she could not implement in the Airbnb system. Custom prices for pets or specific discounts.

She thought a custom portal would be hugely expensive. But what she forgot: We did not need to rebuild an Airbnb that caters to a huge range of different customers. We needed to build a solution just for here.

Discovery led to a very specific set of capabilities for the portal. To make it truly hers. And through that narrowing down, we saved a lot of time and could get straight on with a speedy development.

Development & continued support

Done in weeks. Given that the design work was well prepared in discovery, the implementation was fast. That is the beauty of a good discovery phase. All the roadblocks are identified and solved before getting into the weeds.
